Project Overview

When the staff at the Museum of Flight learned they were to be the recipients of a full-scale mockup of the Space Shuttle orbiter, they needed a partner to help manage the complex disassembly of the mock-up at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, transportation to Seattle, and reassembly at the Museum of Flight.

We also helped to bring this mission-training shuttle to life for future astronauts and space enthusiasts alike by designing, engineering, and installing the engine section of the shuttle. To create an authentic NASA experience, we engineered such working features as orbital maneuvering system pods and a vertical stabilizer.
