Project Overview

The Jones Archaeological Museum in Moundville, Alabama, provided Pacific Studio an opportunity to bring together craftspeople from many of our departments on one project. We created sculptures, a scale replica of a Native American earthwork mound, Smithsonian-approved artifact cases, custom artifact mounts, and 362 linear feet of wall murals. Our in-house artists created a series of sculptures for this exhibit, including a man-pole carving, stylized falcons, and woodpeckers. We coordinated with static figure artists and A/V effects designers, as well as local and native artisans, to produce exhibits that atmospherically portray the lives and beliefs of the people who built the mounds and used the artifacts on display.
